Cayman 5 Silver

Warp-knit polyamide fabric with silver coated yarn.

Generally it is supplied combined with highly sweat absorbing conductive felts for internal lining, coupled with transpiring conductive cross-linked polyurethane foam or conductive thermoformable felts for the creation of ESD antibacterial insoles.

  • Antimicrobial: fights bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Klebisella Pneumonite
  • Antistatic/dissipative: the insertion of 5% of highly conductive diber disperses the electric charges produced and accumulated by the environment
  • Natural: it is a 100% natural yarn that is non-toxic and not subject to chemical treatments
  • Thermoregulating: the characteristics of electrical conductivity make it extremely confortable as it dissipates excess heat giving the sensation of cool in summer and warm in winter
  • Shielding: protects the body from the sbsorption of static energy, from electromagnetic fields and in clothing from UVA rays
  • Permanently: the structure of the yarn makes the affect cost over time even after numerous washes

Determination of antibacterial activity according to DIN EN ISO 20645 / PFI 10/2001, test results:

  • Test strains Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352
  • Sample pre-treatment: Conditioning in sterile Petri dishes at room temperature.
  • Size of samples: 25 ± 5 mm in diameter

The tested material sample (Cayman 5% silver, color black; Composition: 95% Polyamide, 5% Silver; Weight: 110g/m2 +/- 10%; Width: 1500 mm +/- 10%) shows good antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria.
